Diana Smith is an early education professional, “mompreneur”, busy wife and mother of two adorable young ladies, living and loving life in the gorgeous beachside town of Yanchep, Western Australia.
Originally from Dunedin in New Zealand, Diana’s love of reading came from her mum and big sister reading to her at an early age the beautiful stories of Winnie the Pooh and Beatrix Potter. “These authors inspired and influenced me greatly, amazing people and their beautiful words took me to another world as a child, where anything is possible and encouraged me to dream of becoming a writer myself someday.”
It wasn’t until she met her now-husband (Kerry) while doing a writing course that Diana started believing that dream may become a reality. “I overheard Kerry talking to a friend, and he said she would write a book one day, I know she will. I looked at him and realised he meant what he said. Although I had only thought of it as a dream, he actually believed I could do it. I showed the first draft of My Grateful Book to a friend, and suddenly the dream took on a life of its own. I thought about the finished book, and with tears in my eyes, my heart just soared. We have had nothing but good feedback so far and plan on producing an entire series focused on life lessons for small children. There are already two new titles with the illustrators, and I’m writing the third.
I hope you enjoy reading and sharing My Grateful Book with your loved ones as much as I did creating it.
I look forward to sharing with you in early 2018 my two new titles.
